The American Revolution, also known as the Revolutionary War, was fought between September 1st, 1774 - September 3, 1783. The primary opposing forces were a mixed group primarily made of early American colonists versus England's colonial soldiers. Although considered "poorly trained" and outmatched compared to the professional British soldiers, the American colonists fought bravely and fiercely, eventually winning American independence over the British rule. No Auburn-area affiliated veterans are known to have participated in this conflict.
