Welcome to the Auburn Area Historical Society's website. Our goal is to provide one of the most comprehensive historical society websites available on the Internet today. We believe that making these resources readily available to you helps us to achieve the objective of our motto:

NOTE: This website pertains to the heritage and history of the town of Auburn, Pennsylvania. The town of Auburn, PA is located in Schuylkill County and should not be confused with Auburn Center, Auburn Four Corners, Auburn Township, South Auburn or West Auburn, all of which are located in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Nor should it be confused with the numerous towns named Auburn found in over two dozen other states to include Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, West Virginia, the two in Wisconsin, or Wyoming.
The Auburn Area Historical Society is a public community-beneficial group with open admission to anyone who has a genuine interest in the history of Auburn and the surrounding area. The AAHS is a non-profit organization. All AAHS members and officers are non-paid volunteers. All income generated goes directly toward either the expenses of preserving and promoting the heritage of the Auburn area, or as charitable donations to local community organizations. The AAHS is a charitable organization which has made financial donations to various local organizations to include, but not necessarily limited to, the Auburn Borough (which was graciously returned with their thanks to the AAHS), the Auburn (Mill Street) Cemetery Fund, the Auburn Fire Company, the Auburn Halloween Parade, the Auburn Memorial Park Association, the Auburn Scouts; the Historical Society of Schuylkill County, the Schuylkill Area Community Foundation, and the Schuylkill County Veterans Trip Organization. The Auburn Area Historical Society is an IRS 501(c)(7) tax-exempt organization.
